OPEN — Learn is an AI-powered visual tutor. This policy explains what information the application processes, why it is used, and which service providers may receive it.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive the account information Google makes available to the app, which may include your name, email address, profile image, and a stable account identifier.
We process the questions you submit, recent conversation context, generated lesson plans, and narration text needed to provide the service. We also process a daily question count associated with your account identifier.
Basic device and usage information may be collected by our hosting and analytics providers, such as pages visited, browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic events.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, generate visual lessons, maintain conversational context during your session, provide narration, enforce usage limits, secure and troubleshoot the service, and understand aggregate product usage.
We do not sell your personal information or use your questions to build advertising profiles.
Service providers
Information is shared only as needed to operate OPEN — Learn. Google provides authentication. The configured AI model provider receives your question and limited recent conversation context to generate a lesson. ElevenLabs receives generated narration text when voice narration is enabled. Upstash may store a short-lived account-based quota counter. Vercel hosts the application and provides analytics.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. The exact AI provider may vary according to the deployment configuration.
Storage and retention
Conversation messages and lesson plans are held in your browser's active application state and are cleared when the session is reset or the page is closed or reloaded. The current application does not provide permanent conversation-history storage.
Authentication cookies maintain your signed-in session. Daily quota records expire after the applicable UTC day when persistent rate limiting is configured. Service providers may retain operational records according to their own policies.
Cookies and similar technologies
OPEN — Learn uses cookies required for authentication and security. Hosting and analytics services may use limited technical storage or similar technologies to operate and measure the service. Disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.
Your choices
You may sign out at any time and revoke the application's Google account access through your Google Account settings. You may avoid optional narration by not using it. To request access, correction, or deletion of information controlled directly by the project operator, use the contact method below.
Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards, including authenticated API routes, secret environment variables, restricted cross-origin settings, and encrypted HTTPS transport in production. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
OPEN — Learn is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law to consent to online data processing. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact the project operator.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or its providers change. Material revisions will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
For privacy questions or requests, contact the project owner through the OPEN — Learn GitHub repository. Do not include passwords, API keys, or other sensitive credentials.
